Tring Astronomy Centre is a family business comprising of a real bricks and mortar shop and over 30 Years Experience in the field of Astronomy and Optics.

Jane and Neil have been passionate astronomers since childhood, and are very happy to share their wealth of experience and knowledge with both beginners and more experienced astronomers alike.  They are particularly experienced in introducing the hobby to children through their outreach work, and Neil was also chairman of the Wycombe Astronomical Society for a number of years.

The environment that they have created is very welcoming, and even includes a small lounge area - so often several customers call in at the weekend for a catch up and a coffee, and to chat to each other. (In non Covid-19 times of course!!)

Visting Tring Astromnomy Centre

As business is slowly returning to normal we are delighted to welcome customers back into our showroom where there is a fantastic range of binoculars for you to see and try, as well as improving stocks of astronomy telescopes, spotting scopes, night vision products & other accessories.

If you would like to visit, please contact us first to make an appointment.  This will enable us to give you the best possible service, paying particular attention to the following;

• Availability - whilst manufacturers struggle with stock levels and timely updates, its always prudent to check we have what you would like to see.
• Expert Advice - Our staff can be ready and able to give you the time, service and expert advice customers have come to expect from Tring Astro
• Covid Safety - For the comfort and safety of our visitors we keep the number of people in the showroom to a safe and comfortable limit, and implement cleaning protocols on touched optics between visits.

Appointments are typically available between the hours of 9:30am and 4pm Monday to Friday

The standard appointment slot is approximately 45 mins, but we are here to help you so if you have any particular needs please just ask at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Finding Tring Astronomy Centre

The Showroom is located in The Silk Mill Business Park which is off Brook Street in Tring Hertfordshire.  The postcode for your Sat Nav is HP23 5EF.

When you enter The Silk Mill Business Park from Brook Street please turn to the left.  Our unit (No 7) will be found at the bottom of the estate.  Our showroom is on the first floor and is accessed via the metal staircase to the left of the building.  If you are on foot we can also be accessed via a walkway directly from Brook Street.

Free Parking

We have our own parking bays right next to our showroom, which are Free for our customers to use.  Very handy if you happen to be buying something in a big box or two! They have the number 7 (its our storage unit number) and a P on them. If there are cars already in them, feel free to block them in. It will be one of our cars, or a customer in the showroom already.
