The Telescope

Ambitious beginners and advanced users will already find the brightest objects outside the solar system with this device. Discover structures in the Orion Nebula at an incredible distance of 1,500 light-years (14,200,000,000,000 km)! Traversing the light-dark boundary (terminator) on the Moon is a delight. You will never want to give up the Messier AR-102xs.

As a compact travel device, the Messier AR-102xs provides excellent service. Especially with its very short focal length of only 460 mm, it enables impressive wide-field observations of open star clusters and the Milky Way.

Only through the use of ED special glass could we realise this very bright device. It offers extraordinarily high image quality with very low colour aberration at an attractive price. With the included objective solar filter, you can also observe our own star. (Warning: Never aim the telescope at the Sun without a solar filter!)

The Mount

The EXPLORE SCIENTIFIC EXOS-2 PMC-Eight GoTo mount is equipped with a modern and highly precise GoTo control system. It consists of a robust Wi-Fi controller unit that provides all necessary interfaces. The NEMA-11 stepper motors are directly connected to this unit by cable, and an ST-4 compatible autoguider interface is also available. Additionally, the control system supports microstep operation for precise tracking.

Intuitive operation via app and graphical star chart
The ExploreStars app, specially developed for the PMC-Eight system, impresses with a visually appealing, intuitive user interface. It displays the currently available alignment stars for system initialisation as well as all celestial objects from the database in a star chart format with additional text information. All these objects can be conveniently viewed and selected.

Powerful controller unit with Open GoTo for customisation
The heart of the controller unit is a fully autonomous 2-channel multi-processor with 8 CPUs and a Wi-Fi Ethernet 10/100 adapter with IP functionality. This allows remote operation via browser, ASCOM, app, or serial connection. Thanks to Open GoTo, it is also possible to write custom firmware and load it into the controller unit. This enables individual customisations of the device functions, including the creation of your own object lists, etc.

Polar finder included
The pre-installed and included polar finder scope allows for quick and precise polar alignment and long exposure times without unwanted star trails. The integrated LED illumination unit further enhances the convenience of the polar finder.
