Celestron Regal M2 80ED Spotting Scope

The Regal M2 spotting scope series is the next generation of our top-performing Regal F-ED spotting scopes. Day or night, the Regal M2 is optimized to provide the sharpest images available. You’ll love them for bird watching, nature observing, long distance viewing and casual astronomical observing.

These top-of-the-line spotting scopes provide all the advanced features usually found on more expensive scopes, including Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass. The series boasts a magnesium alloy body, decreasing the overall weight of the spotting scopes by more than 14% when compared to the previous model. The new M2 scopes also include an upgraded dual focus mechanism, allowing you to bring your subject into focus two times faster.

Regal M2 is fully waterproof and nitrogen-purged to prevent fogging. It’s available in a new green color and comes with a carrying case so you can bring it with you anywhere.

If you’re interested in photographing your discoveries, Regal is the perfect choice. Attach your camera to the Regal using a T-Ring and the included T-Adapter to produce stunning images! The Regal M2 spotter is a great companion for any outdoor enthusiast.

Regal M2 80ED Spotting Scope General Features

  • ED Objective Lens: Minimizes chromatic aberration, accurate color reproduction, increased resolution and contrast.
  • XLT Coatings (Fully Multi-Coated Optics): Proprietary XLT lens coatings maximize light transmission through the optical path for brighter images and increased resolution and contrast.
  • Magnesium Alloy Body: This material is strong and durable, but lighter weight than traditional aluminum alloy housings.
  • Dual focus: Course focus for rough adjustment and fine focus for detailed adjustment.  New quicker focusing mechanism.
  • Rotating tripod mount with detents: Place the orientation of the eyepiece in the best viewing position for application.
  • 20-60x Zoom Eyepiece: Adjustable magnification, giving you a wide field of view for general viewing and detailed up close viewing when needed. Twist-up eyecup for correct positioning of the user's eyes for comfortable viewing with or without eyeglasses.
  • Standard 1.25” eyepiece mount allows a variety of astronomical eyepieces to be used with the spotting scope.
  • T-adapter ring included for easy 35mm/digital SLR photography.
  • Sliding sunshade with sighting line keeps out stray light and keeps moisture off of the objective lens.  Sighting line aids in finding the subject you want to bring into view.

Celestron Regal Premium Tripod

The perfect tripod should be stable yet lightweight and easy to operate, requiring minimal knob twisting and lever flipping. The Celestron Regal was designed to be your perfect tripod. It is lightweight (6.04 lb.) and compact, yet it can hold up to almost 9 lb of equipment.

The Celestron Regal Tripod is topped with a two-way fluid pan head. The single handle makes it easy to move the head around, while two knobs, located on the same side of the head make it easy to adjust the tension of the pan and tilt. A quick release plate with standard 1/4-20 thread mount makes it easy to attach a spotting scope, binocular, camera, or small telescope to the tripod. The quick release plate also doubles as a balance rail allowing the optic to be balanced when attached to the tripod. For additional peace of mind the quick release plate has a safety mechanism which prevents it from sliding completely out of the pan head without pushing the release button.

The aluminum legs of the Regal Tripod are fully adjustable, not just in length, but in their angle as well. Each leg is made up of four sections that can be shortened or lengthened with the flip of a simple lever lock. This makes it easy to make the tripod a little taller or a little shorter as your terrain or needs change. Each leg can also be set to three different angles. If the place you need to set up your tripod is not perfectly flat, the ability to adjust the angle of one or more legs makes all the difference.

With the center column fully extended, the maximum height achieved is nearly 69 inches (59 inches with the column down). The center column of the Regal Tripod does more than just go up and down. The bottom end of the column holds a retractable balance hook. This simple device can make all the difference in the stability of your tripod, especially on windy days. Just hang something heavy from the hook like a backpack and you’ll be amazed at the difference. When the hook is not needed, it retracts up into the center column to stay neatly out of the way.

Two of the legs come with padded wraps, providing protection for your shoulder when carrying and making it more comfortable to make adjustments during cold weather. The legs also feature retractable spiked feet with the ability to change from rubber to spiked feet if the terrain requires it with the simple turn of the rubber pad.

Other features include bubble levels, located on the top of the tripod as well as on the side of the pan head. The case is the perfect place to store your tripod when not in use, and makes it easy to transport via the shoulder strap.
