How to align a Celestron Nexstar SLT Telescope - One to One Lesson, Extended

One to one telescope lessons are held at our showroom in Tring, Hertfordshire, and are designed for beginners looking for some friendly expert help.  (Online lessons Via Zoom are also available.)

We have a number of telescope set up sessions available, covering a variety of topics and product types from telescope assembly, telescope collimation, attaching cameras to telescopes, aligning computerised telescopes and other typical telescope problems.

This particular one to one lesson is an extended version of the 'Align a Celestron Nexstar SLT Telescope Session'. The additional time can be used to take the standard items below a little more slowly,  to add additional items such as photography, fitting a dew heater, collimation, or to create a completely bespoke session. We cover the assembly of the telescope, checking that all the necessary items are present and fitted correctly.

We talk about and make sure the finderscope is correctly adjusted, and how to use it.

We discuss eyepieces, which ones to chose and when and how to focus the telescope.

We check the Handset settings and walk through the alignment routine.

This extended one to one session is typically around 60 - Minutes
