Sky-Watcher

Sky-Watcher has produced astronomical telescopes since 2000 starting with the very popular Sky-Watcher Dobsonians. This was quickly followed by the introduction of the Sky-Watcher Maksutov Telescopes in 2001 and ED APO refractor telescopes in 2004. In 2008 Sky-Watcher formed a collaberation with Schott AG, a German manufacturer of high-quality industrial glass and to this day Schott glass can be found in many of Sky-Watchers higher end products.

Sky-Watcher's product line-up contains telescopes from 2.4“ (60 mm) up to 20“ (500 mm) aperture with manual, motor-driven or GoTo SynScan mounts. Since 2008, Sky-Watcher has manufactured dobsonians with collapsible tubes, a product line they call FlexTube-dobsonians.  This popular design allows a large dobsonian telescope to be reduced to a more transportable size.
